Cleaning Tips & Advice
Stain Proofing
As a messy drinker (red wine and beer if you are in the area) I have frequent need to have my rugs cleaned. So, while having my last rug cleaned I also had it stain-proofed. I am very happy with the result. I used to be against having it done but the process seems to have improved over the years. There was a very slight change in colour but hardly noticeable (much less of a colour change than when a glass of red wine lands on it). The cost for this service should be around £5.00 per square metre plus a collection and delivery charge if you cannot get the rug to us.
We will be very happy to recommend a stain-proofing company near you.
Cleaning
For day-to-day cleaning, a light vacuuming will do an excellent job of removing surface dirt. A natural enemy of your rug is the moth and it is advisable to use your vacuum attachments to reach under furniture for protection. Moths like natural fibres and prefer darker places and so to help protect against moths, the rug should be lifted and turned from time to time especially if any part is under furniture. This will also lengthen the life of your tug.
When arranging your furniture it is wise to have some sort of protection under the legs to prevent the carpet fibres being crushed. Avoid sharp castors or narrow legs and move furniture from time to time. Never lay an oriental rug on a damp floor as the wet can cause rot, always seek professional help if the rug needs cleaning. If it is necessary to store a rug for any length of time, take care to pack it with moth repellent.

The cost for this service should be around £15.00 per square metre plus a collection and delivery charge if you cannot get the rug to us. Obviously very bad staining will cost more.
